MnKnows is a new information portal to Minnesota's online library services. MnKnows allows the searcher to use and explore the various electronic resources listed below. Minnesota's libraries cooperate to connect Minnesotans with the world of information, the content of their collections, and the expertise of their staff members. MnKnows is provided by Minitex , an information and resource sharing program of the Minnesota Office of Higher Education and the University of Minnesota Libraries. |
Electronic Library for Minnesota (ELM) provides magazines, journals and newspaper articles, electronic books (eBooks), and valuable information from reliable and accurate reference sources.
ELM provides information on a vast array of topics, including consumer information, arts and humanities, current events, health, science, politics, business, and more.
These resources are available to all Minnesota residents at no charge!
Through the MnLINK Gateway, libraries and community members have access to electronic resources including online catalogs from over 20 Minnesota library systems and the Electronic Library for Minnesota (ELM).
The MINITEX Library Information Network (MINITEX) is a publicly supported network of academic, public, state government, and special libraries working cooperatively to improve library service for their users.
The Minnesota state library agency is a division of the Minnesota Department of Education. The state library provides leadership and support to the Minnesota library community in planning, developing, and implementing high quality library and information services statewide. The State Library Agency administers federal and state grants-in-aid programs for libraries and schools.
The Minnesota Library Association is a professional organization promoting librarianship and library service. MLA offers library staff, trustees and library advocates opportunities for development through networking and continuing education events, including an annual conference. Another major activity involves the development of legislative platform and lobbying on behalf of the organization, its members, and goals in conjunction with the MLA lobbyist. MLA is an affiliate chapter of the American Library Association.
The mission of The Minnesota Association of Library Friends is to promote excellence in library service by working with and through Friends of the Library organizations and the libraries that they represent.
