23 Mobile Things – Complete!

Sponsored by Minnesota’s multitype systems, 23 Mobile Things was a self-paced, online learning opportunity that helped participants learn about mobile apps, and gain an a better understanding of their Android and Apple mobile devices.  Initiated on January 15  and extended until July 15, 2014, over 100 library staff completed all “23 things” and became eligible for prizes.

For those who didn’t finish or didn’t start, watch for another round in October 2014.

One Month More for 23 Mobile Things MN

Over 700 library staff members, from all types of libraries, as well as trustees, Friends, and volunteers enrolled in 23 Mobile Things MN between January 15 – February 15.  Some participants zipped along trying different apps from social media to hobbies, from games to news. Others may need a gentle nudge and today is the the day to pick up your smart phone or tablet.  Start again and investigate 23 Mobile Things.

23 Mobile Things starts today

23MobileThings_SidebarWith technology changing at such a rapid pace, Minnesota’s multitype systems kick of 23 ways to explore personal devices. 23 Mobile Things is a self-discovery, web-based learning program. Using your own devise you will discover apps of all kinds from social networking to photo editing to birding.  The “Things” may highlight apps you already have loaded and are using while other apps are sure to be new.  This will be your opportunity to explore.

As much as possible the creators of 23 Mobile Things have tried to find free apps for both Apple based (iPhone and iPad) or Android-based (such as Google Nexus, Samsung Galaxy) devices.  Each of the 23 Mobile Things will introduce several possibilities.  You can spend as much time as you feel you need to get of sense of the app and then simply blog your reactions.

Registration opens January 15 and is open to all library staff in any Minnesota library, as well as library trustees.
