The White House selected three MELSA libraries — Hennepin County Library, Ramsey County Library, and Saint Paul Public Library to participate in its new ConnectED Initiative. The project builds partnerships between public libraries and their local school districts, with a goal of connecting 99% of America’s students to next generation broad-band within five year.
Hennepin County Library’ partnership officially kicked off with the 2015-2016 school year. New library cards were issued by HCL staff to every student at North and West Junior Highs. Watch this video to learn more about this new initiative in Minnesota, why Hennepin County Library chose to partner with Hopkins Public Schools and how this partnership will increase learning in the classrooms.
