Lake Agassiz Regional Library is thrilled to invite it’s reading public to participate in Hot Reads for Cold Nights, an annual winter reading program for adults.
The LARL program rules are simple: read or listen to four books, audiobooks, eBooks, or eAudiobooks for a chance to win prizes. The program will begin on Monday, January 2 and end Tuesday, February 28. All of LARL’s 22 locations are offering this reading opportunity. Prizes include mugs, totes, calendars and more!
Blustery weather and long winter nights provide the perfect excuse to snuggle down with a good book (or two, or three). The Arrowhead Library System and SELCO winter reading programs will enhance the reading enjoyment whether the reader chooses a paper copy, an audio version or an eBook.
Plum Creek Library System’s (PCLS) annual winter reading program launched region-wide on January 2, and will run through March 31, 2016.
The program, open to ages 18 and beyond, is held every year during the winter months, and rewards readers for doing what they love to do – read. Participation is simple: sign up at your local library, and pledge to read at least 12 books during the 3-month long program. Most readers will meet that goal and many will exceed that number. Most PCLS libraries offer patrons who complete the challenge an incentive prize. In addition, libraries will be given recognition for various distinctions including the most new participants enrolled in the program and most books read throughout the three-month period.
SELCO’s 2016 Hot Reads for Cold Nights theme takes its cue from a cool evening’s walk in new-fallen snow. As dusk turns to night, the sky takes on a gorgeous ombré effect fading from winter white through numerous shades of purple to a midnight blue. Even though the air is chilly, you enjoy the beauty of it all knowing you have one of our mugs filled with piping hot cocoa just waiting for you to return.
SELCO is now accepting orders for products for the 2015 Hot Reads for Cold Nightswinter reading program. This year’s theme takes its cue from the vibrant colors of the Northern Lights which glide across our skies during the depths of winter. After an evening outside viewing one of Mother Nature’s greatest light shows, folks should be plenty happy to curl up with some cocoa in one of our mugs or tug on one of our long-sleeved hoodies for some extra warmth.
