It’s Complicated: The Nuts & Bolts of Minnesota Libraries
Have you heard these acronyms—MELSA, MOE, MLA, ITEM, ARLD, SLS, ELM, MDE, IMLS, RPLS, LSTA? Do you know the difference between a federated and consolidated library system? What’s a multitype? Where does money for libraries in Minnesota come from? Have other questions about how libraries in Minnesota work and cooperate? This is the workshop for you!
Join other library staff from around the Twin Cities as you learn the structure of Minnesota libraries, how different types of libraries are organized and funded, how libraries work together, what other organizations are part of libraries’ infrastructure, issues facing libraries, and more. Bring your questions about Minnesota libraries and prepare to leave with useful insight on how we work.
All library staff are welcome to attend, regardless of how long you have worked in Minnesota libraries.
